Best Electric Bikes Under $1000 Review

Swagtron SwagCycle Classic E-Bike – Folding Electric Bicycle

Swagtron SwagCycle Classic E-Bike is a foldable option that can help users reach their destination with less effort compared to conventional bikes. Since it is collapsible, you can easily store this electric bike in your closet or any small space. You can have it in your office. This bike makes use of aerospace-grade aluminum frame that can support a significant amount of weight.

This electric bike runs on a 250-watt motor and a 36V battery that can get to 100% charged in just 2.5 hours. If you plan on checking the battery life or operate the motor of your electric bike, you have everything found in the handlebar. Also, you can make use of the electric bike to recharge your devices since it has a USB charging port.

The electric bike reaches up to 16km/h plus it can also reach a distance of up to 16km if it is fully charged. Compared to other electric bikes, this might be a bit slow. However, given the fact that you are still riding a bicycle, this might be a bit safer to use than the faster e-bikes.

However, this electric bike doesn’t have any sort of pedal. It means that it is completely reliant on the motor. The moment that the motor fails, you will end up dragging this electric bike.

Pros:

  • With USB charging port
  • Runs up to 16km/h
  • Can get fully charged in just 2.5 hours
  • Durable aluminum frame

Cons:

  • No pedals

TopMate Mini Electric Tricycle

The TopMate Mini Electric Tricycle is a great option for those who plan to have an alternative mode of transportation going to the train station or the bus. Instead of waking, you can just ride the TopMate Mini Electric Tricycle which can support users up to 220lbs. The good news is that you can carry this foldable tricycle which only weighs around 14kg. It makes use of aluminum alloy used by the aviation industry. As for the lithium battery, you only need three hours to have it fully charged. And also, once fully charged, the bike can run up to 30km. But unlike other electric bikes that usually encounter a problem with the battery, the TopMate Electric Foldable Bike’s battery can last up to 7 years.

It also has an ergonomic design that can support the user’s weight quite well. And also, you have a 3-speed transmission system that you can choose from depending on the road you are dealing with.

One problem that you encounter with the TopMate Electric Foldable Bike is that it doesn’t have a pedal. It means that it is completely reliant on its motor and battery.

Pros:

  • Weighs only 14kg
  • Can run up to 30km
  • Battery can last up to 7 years
  • Supports users up to 220lbs

Cons:

  • No pedal

ECOTRIC 26″ Electric Fat Tire Bike

The ECOTRIC 26” Electric Fat Tire Bike has that sporty look. And, indeed, it doesn’t’ disappoint regardless if you simply need a mode of transportation to the office or something that you can use outdoors. But unlike other mountain bikes, you get the assistance of a 500W motor plus a 36V 10Ah Lithium Cell. The maximum speed can reach 37km/h and can reach up to 28km once fully charged. But of course, it depends on what mode you plan on using.

The material used on this electric bike is made of aluminum alloy frame. This allows the bike to support the weight of the user, plus it is relatively lightweight. It weighs around 58 pounds along with the battery but could carry a user that weighs up to 260 pounds.

A common complaint though is that there are instances when the battery turns out to be defective. Given the heavy-duty construction of the electric bike, it is important to have a durable battery to ensure the best experience to its users.

Pros:

  • Durable material
  • Powerful motor
  • Good traction because of the fat tires
  • Can support users up to 260 pounds

Cons:

  • Battery issue

Montague Paratrooper 24 Speed Folding Mountain Bike

The Montague Paratropper 24-Speed Folding Mountain Bike offers a variety of options for different users. If you are below 5’ up to 5’2”, you can choose the 16” frame. On the other hand, the 18” wheels are for riders that are 5’3” to 5’10”. And for those who are taller up to 6’4”, it is suggested to have the 20”.

It has a one-click folding system making it easy on its users to store the bike or carry it around when needed. This bike is made specifically for paratroopers which means that it should be able to fit plane doors.

The disk brake for this bike stands out simply because it has more stopping power that performs well in different weather conditions. In addition to this, it also has the SR Suntour suspension fork giving you the ability to glide on off-road trails. However, it doesn’t have any motor or battery. It means that you will have to do all the peddling.

Pros:

  • Variety of options for different heights
  • Suspension fork that can make things run smoothly
  • Industry-standard parts
  • Easy to fold

Cons:

  • No motor

Conclusion

Your choice of electric bike should depend mainly on lifestyle and preference. But also, there are the basic factors that any user would like to consider. For instance, nobody wants to have a bike with poor suspension that can stress the lower back. Or perhaps, no one wants to drive an electric bike that can’t even function on its own on a slightly inclined road.

To be able to have the best electric bike under 1000, you will have to take a closer look at each bike that someone catches your attention. From here, you can scrutinize the specs and even other users’ experience with the bike.
